Welcome to the world of Arcadia

The transcript of this trailer can be found below or as a PDF here

Station Arcadia is a podcast that tells stories from a world where steampunk, dieselpunk, cyberpunk, and solarpunk societies all exist side by side. These stories are told through a radio station on a shifting island which broadcasts stories from across the land that together tell the story of a revolution, and hope in the face of a dying world. Also, it's queer.

Station Arcadia will begin broadcasting Season 1 on Friday, September 4th, 2020. Stay tuned for more trailers leading up to the release. Make sure to stay up to date by following us on Twitter and Tumblr.

This trailer featured Jade Virginia as Kassandra, and music by Theo Goodwin. It was written by C.V.V.M, directed by Tovah Brantner, and edited by Eliana Esdi and J.R. Steele.

Transcript for Trailer 1:

[SLOW PIANO MUSIC]

KASS. We soar above the world and see below us a vast land. First, we see The Empire, with its war-torn battlefields

[MARCHING DRUMBEAT]

and radiation-filled wastes. We see its 5 fighting countries, all so different yet each eternally consumed by the fight for fuel and land. We see people dying, and people trying so hard just to live.

[SYNTH MELODY WITH STATIC AND GUITAR]

We cross the sea heading West, and come to Hardizan, its myriad cities whirring with life.

[GENTLE TICKING]

We hear the ever-present clicking of clock-work and the hiss of steam-power. We see, in the factories, people and gears alike grinding away for hour upon hour.

[RISING SYNTH MELODY WITH BASS GUITAR]

Then, we look north, beyond the wall, to Talsoria.

[HORN SYNTHS]

The first thing we notice is Deadline, a vast and sprawling city, with billboards plastered on every inch. Next we see the hovertrains that connect each city in Talsoria to The Nexus, they weave and wind through the towering mountain range. We see the multicolored lights of the cities, bright and ever-changing.

[REPEATING MELODY ON PIPE WITH STRINGS]

Now we drift back over the sea to a group of 9 small isles, with distinct yet united cultures, known as the Gannon Islands. The Islands still show scars from their time as part of The Empire, but we see as the people work to heal the land they have reclaimed. They live and grow and learn and rest, in the shadow of the storms on the horizon.

[THE MUSIC CUTS OUT]

Finally, our eye catches on a radio tower off in the distance. The tower - the only one of its kind - stands on an island named after the world. Arcadia.

[QUIET CYMBAL HITS AND BASS GUITAR]

It was not there before, and by morning it will be gone again. This world is big, and this world is varied, and this world is far from kind. Still - hope is not lost. Slowly, though not surely, the tide is turning. Revolutions are forming, rising, and resisting - and Station Arcadia will tell their stories.

[PIANO MELODY WITH A DRUM KIT AND BASS GUITAR]
